Design Story
Expertly woven on a traditional Indian handloom from hemp and jute, two of our most loved natural materials here at nkuku, this striking wall art features a classic Indian triangle design in elegantly muted colours. Framed by sustainable mango wood, it has a beautifully textured finish to bring a warm, organic feel to your living space. Also available in an alternative design.
How it's Made
We choose to work with natural, recycled and reclaimed materials for our pieces. Jute is a great natural material we love to use as it is a rain-fed crop that has little need for fertilisers or pesticides. It is a natural vegetable fibre that can be spun into strong and durable threads. The traditional Indian handloom represents one of India's most ancient crafts, embodying centuries of heritage. Our pieces honour this legacy, meticulously woven, braided, and stitched by skilled artisans using age-old techniques. Each piece celebrates the artistry and craftsmanship passed down through generations.

Weaving on handlooms
The handloom is one of the oldest crafts in India. Our collections are skilfully woven, braided and stitched by hand using these age-old methods. The skill of the weaver expertly crafting patterns from memory is a pleasure to behold.
