B Corp Certified

Nkuku is B Corp Certified
We are proud to be a certified B Corporation, joining a global community of businesses committed to using business as a force for good.
Becoming B Corp certified reflects the values that have shaped Nkuku since we began: creating beautifully designed, handcrafted homewares while considering our impact on people and the planet.
What is a B Corporation?
B Corps are businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
To become certified, businesses undertake the rigorous B Impact Assessment, which looks beyond the products they sell to assess the impact of the whole organisation across five key areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers.
The assessment considers areas including environmental practices, energy and resource use, employee welfare, diversity, supply chains and corporate transparency.
Businesses must achieve a minimum verified score of 80 points to become B Corp certified. Nkuku achieved a B Impact Score of 96.4
What does being a B Corp mean to us?
Nkuku was founded in 2003 with a simple ambition: to create beautiful, ethical homewares while supporting traditional craftsmanship and building long-term, fair and transparent relationships with our suppliers.
Our founding values of ethical, eco-conscious and handmade design continue to guide the way we work today.
We use natural, reclaimed and recycled materials wherever appropriate and work with skilled makers around the world, celebrating traditional techniques and the character that comes from pieces made by hand.
Becoming a B Corp is an important recognition of that approach, but it is not the end of the journey. B Corp certification encourages businesses to continually measure their impact and find ways to improve.
Our commitment to responsible homeware
We believe thoughtful design and responsible business should go hand in hand.
From the materials we choose and the makers we work with to the way we operate as a business, we are committed to making considered choices and continuing to reduce our impact.
As Nkuku evolves, the principles we started with remain at the heart of the business.
“We established Nkuku in 2003 based on three core values: ethical, eco-friendly and handmade.”
There is always more we can do. We will continue to challenge ourselves, improve our practices and work towards creating a more positive impact for our people, our communities and the planet.
