The appealing swirls of this striking Idana basket wall art are the careful work of an NGO group from southern India. The baskets are truly unique and demonstrate the age-old techniques of making yarn, coiling and stitching. The natural and black tones help to extenuate this eye- catching design and make this a statement piece of wall art. The NGO was established to support rural women in drought prone areas. Crops would and still do fail and farming conditions are tough. The NGO helps these women earn a supplementary income allowing them to support their own families. The Idana basket wall art are rich with texture and provide a unique decorative piece for a wall display. All dyes are natural.

Weaving on handlooms
The handloom is one of the oldest crafts in India. Our collections are skilfully woven, braided and stitched by hand using these age-old methods. The skill of the weaver expertly crafting patterns from memory is a pleasure to behold.
