The mango wood is finished with a transparent light wax. We recommend using a coaster to protect the wood from heat or liquid. Wipe clean with a damp cloth, no chemical cleaners.

The bench itself is nice, heavy, well made but you won't fit a pair of ankle / walking boots on the shelf...this is for shoes only so a bit disappointing. If you only have walking shoes then its fine and would recommend but if you are like us and walk in all weathers its not so fine
