A leather tailor from Delhi
“One day I would like to have my own small shop in my local village”.
Mohamed is a tailor, specialising in stitching. He is also responsible for packaging the final product to ensure its safe delivery across India to the coast where it is then shipped to the UK. Mohamed enjoys stitching ‘ladies purse and bags because of the attention to detail and the decorative nature of pieces like this’.
Mohamed learned his skills in Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta) where he worked as supervisor. He moved to Delhi on a friend’s recommendation and has been working here ever since.
Mohamed likes to pass the time playing games on his mobile phone and listening to music. He particularly likes listening to Sharukh Khan, an actor who sings great songs in Bollywood movies but his favourite singer is Udit Narayan.
Mohamed lives with three male friends a short distance away from his workplace. His favourite place in India in Agra and all his family love the Taj Mahal.
