How it's Made

At nkuku, we choose to work with natural and sustainable materials, and jute is one of our favourites. Fast-growing and biodegradable, jute takes just 4-6 months to go from planting to harvest. Its strength and durability make it perfect for structural pieces, and its colourfast properties ensure longevity. For this shade, handwoven jute threads are intricately wrapped around a metal frame, creating a stunning piece that beautifully showcases sustainability and the beauty of the natural world.

Beautiful. Unexpected elements required to be sourced elsewhere.

We have sourced all lighting throughout our renovation from Nkuku; and they are exquisite. Some come with biscuits & chains/cords; others don’t, and no option to add as an extra - requiring to buy elsewhere. Would be hugely beneficial to be able to purchase a complete item, including an appropriate bulb.
