These low-rise platforms were once an integral part of daily life across Indian homes and temples. These were used for sitting, serving meals, and performing religious rituals. People would sit cross-legged on the floor with their food served on chowkis, which functioned as portable low tables.

To care for your wood wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry immediately. Due to the natural beauty of these items there may be changes to the colour over time. To nourish and protect the natural wood rub an edible oil such as olive oil or walnut oil into the surface with a dry cloth.
