Nayan Leather & Jute Dining Chair - Tan

The Nayan leather and jute dining chair brings together three natural materials, each with its own texture: a turned, hand-carved mango wood frame, a padded buffalo leather seat in aged tan and a backrest of woven jute.

Antique brass rivets add a finishing detail to the seat, and the lacquered leather is designed to gain a patina over time, becoming more beautiful as it ages. With a seat height of 46cm, the Nayan is at home around a dining table, and just as happy at a desk or in a hallway.

Every part of the chair has a story. The mango wood comes from trees that are no longer fruitful, a by-product of the mango-growing industry in India, and the buffalo leather is also a by-product. Jute is a rain-fed crop with little need for fertiliser or pesticides.
