Design Story
Jute is a core material for nkuku – we love the way the natural fibres add a raw and rustic look to our designs. The shade has been thoughtfully designed so that light emits gently through the loose weave of the fabric, allowing for a diffuse glow to fill the room. The neutral tones of the jute gives a relaxed, laid-back aesthetic that is wonderfully versatile and has been designed to match all our nkuku table and floor lamps. It is colourfast so will not fade over time. Available in multiple sizes.

How it's Made
Biodegradable and fast growing, jute takes only 4-6 months from planting to harvest. It is a durable material designed to last, it is also colourfast, and when woven, makes the perfect material for structural pieces. For this shade, hand-woven jute threads are intricately wrapped around a metal frame, creating a stunning piece that beautifully showcases sustainability and the beauty of the natural world.

To care for your lampshade, we recommend always handling the item by it's fitting, rather than the fabric. Regularly wipe the lampshade gently with a microfibre cloth.

Beautiful shade
I’d been looking for a while for a shade to go with a Pooky Moonshine standard lamp and chose this after asking AI for recommendations which suggested something natural.
The shade lets a beautiful amount of light through and looks amazing when on. It’s great contrast against a Boxington green wall and we love it.

Well made lampshade
First time purchase from Nkuku and I am very impressed. The lampshade is really well made and fitted my existing lamp base perfectly, I judged the size from the descriptions on the website which I found helpful. My parcel was delivered next day, although I hadn’t paid extra for this service, and was very well packaged. Will definitely purchase again from Nkuku and would recommend to others.
