Handwoven Rugs FAQs

What type of rug holds up the best?

Wool rugs are one of the most durable types you can buy. Their ability to withstand continuous use and maintain softness makes them a great option for living spaces.

Should you buy a rug first or last?

Buying a rug first before your furniture gives you a reference point to build from. If you like the look of a darker-toned rug for example, you could pair it with lighter shades around the room to create balanced and considered contrasts.

How do I clean my natural fibre rug without damaging it?

For most of our rugs, we recommend that you clean any spills immediately by blotting with a clean sponge or cloth. Take care when vacuuming - we do not recommend the use of vacuums with rotating brushes as these may damage the rug fibres. For stubborn stains and spillages, we recommend seeking professional advice.

Their ability to withstand continuous use and maintain softness makes them a great option for living spaces. For all rugs, remember to keep them out of direct sunlight and away from direct sources of heat and moisture to protect them and extend their lifespan. Should you buy a rug first or last when decorating a room?

Buying a rug first before your furniture gives you a reference point to build from, which is why it is generally recommended if you are decorating a room. If you like the look of a darker-toned rug, for example, you could pair it with lighter shades around the room to create balanced and considered contrasts. However, rugs can also be bought later if you already have a foundational piece for the room - for example, a statement sofa or art piece. Generally, as long as you have already identified your colour palette and feel for the room, you can buy a rug at most points throughout the process.
