The warm, natural hues of our small Beru rattan shade are handmade from sustainably grown rattan. The endearing design is inspired by traditional Indonesian fishing baskets. The basketry work casts pretty shadows on the wall when lit. This perfectly proportioned cylinder shaped shade is perfect for any room in the house.
Words of Wisdom
This shade can fit over an pre -existing light fixing. Indonesia has a rich heritage of weaving rattan; an important cultural tradition was to weave rattan into Apais, these are decorative matts that were used to dress traditional long houses. Baskets were also woven with specific purposes in mind such as washing, carrying and storing food. These traditions and techniques are still very much alive today, in both traditional and new forms and designs. Our lamp shades and baskets are hand woven using the same ancient Indonesian weaving making skills. We are careful to ensure the rattan used in production of our products is cultivated sustainably.

The handloom is one of the oldest crafts in India. Our collections are skilfully woven, braided and stitched by hand using these age-old methods. The skill of the weaver expertly crafting patterns from memory is a pleasure to behold.
Delighted with this lampshade , I was kept informed of my order and it arrived really quickly! Really well packaged and absolutely beautifully! Thank you Nkuku!
The product description was great but I honestly think it’s better than the photo !

The fitting that attaches the shade to the light fitting was broken and the shade is quite heavy so a bit of a worry. I emailed but I’ve not had a response so not happy. I’ve tried to fix it with glue but worried about the weight as the support strut to the light fitting bit is not well designed. Looks good but for the money it should have a much better and stronger attachment to the light pendant. I hope my repair holds.
